Rev. Steve Ayers came to Burnham-on-Sea in September 2005. Previous to this he was on the staff of UCCF (an Organisation that works with University students) and Assistant Pastor at Barton Evangelical Church in Canterbury. He has also worked in factories, warehouses, been ‘white van man’, laboured on a building site and spent too long in an accountancy office.
Steve is originally from Gloucestershire, and is happy to be back in the West Country, especially as it means he can watch his home County play cricket. Steve also enjoys football, with a rather sad liking for Exeter City.
He also likes photography, music, walking, reading and writing. He has written three books for Inter-Varsity Press: Sex and Sensibility, What Would Jesus Say To .... And the sequel, What Would Jesus Say 2?
Steve did not grow up going to church and became a Christian after talking to a friend in the office that he worked in. He trained in London at Spurgeon’s College and is married to Linda.
